Sean Welch Goldberg Sponsorship

Guardians MC would like to start this season by introducing all to a special and talented young man named Sean Welch Goldberg who is the grandson of one of our members (Kenny "Wipeout" Avery).  Sean has been battling with CF (Cystic Fibrous) since birth.  This disease however has not stopped this young man from becoming the currently No. 1 Ranked fighter in New England by the Karate Referee Association of New England.  Guardians MC proudly sponsors Sean who trains at the Goldberg Karate Studio in Wolcott, CT.  Sean proudly wears the embroidered Guardians MC emblem down the  left leg of his uniform.  Because of CF Sean is half the size of most kids his age but that has not stopped him from continually being the best that he can be.

Guardians MC wishes the Goldberg Studio and Sean Welch Goldberg continued success in the 05 season and we will continue to sponsor this young man in any way that we can.

Guardians MC will have a booth set up at Super Sunday on May 8th with a donation jar in hopes to raise more money to continue the expensive costs to help Sean's family support him through his 05 season.  Most events  are out of state and costly and we thank you in advance if you would help us help Sean this 05 season.

The Chris Iosa Fundraiser for a 6 night, 7 day visit to Disney World, Fla.

I would just like to say a few words on this event which was made possible by the Dream Makers Social Club. Chris Iosa suffers from a rare chromosomal abnormality and suffers severe mental retardation, seizures and is non-verbal. He is under 100% daily care and guidance. Over 400 people and approx. 6300.00 was raised to send this young man his father and a nurse to Disney World. This was a great turnout for someone in need by the community and friends. We wish the Iosa family well and have a great time at Disney. This event was held at JC Hooks in Waterbury, CT. Great job from Jimmy and all his staff for the great time and food. Enjoy the pics.

T Torrington FD 4th Annual Run

Sunday June 26, 2005

This was the 4th year also this club has supported this event. Over 100 riders showed up at the firehouse on Water Street. The ride was a scenic 72 mi. ride through Northwest CT. It was a hot day for a good cause. All the monies raised go to support the Bridgeport Burn Center. Trust me, the ride was better that the pics. Enjoy and thank you Torrington FD.

This event was held at the Cadillac Ranch in Southington, CT. It was a great day of fun, music, and plenty of great food. The only thing that must be said of this awesome event is "never lend your new bike to a moto cop". Enjoy the pics.

3rd Annual Bikers for the Cure

This was a very hot day which started out very sunny for this annual event to support the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. For the 3rd annual event, this run just keeps getting bigger and better. Over 450 bikers came out to this well organized run which took all on a police escorted ride for about 60 miles. Once back at the Lily Lake Inn in Wolcott, CT. two giant buffet lines went quickly and smoothly with an array of great hot food, salads, rolls and more well worth the price of the run alone. Hope this continues and if you could not make it this year, its a must for next year.

6th Annual Shelly Vogel Memorial Ride

This is our 5th year attending this ride out of Stafford Springs, CT.  They switched it up a bit this year and made it a 5-stop Poker run, which everyone seemed to truly enjoy.  As with every year that the Guardians MC attends this event we were greeted with enthusiasm and lots of familiar faces.  This is one of our favorite runs starting out with breakfast at the Italian Benefit Society, food at almost every stop (provided by the facility owners) and ending with a full chicken dinner, live band and tons of raffles.  Special thanks to Elaine, Caroline, Patty, Snake and all the staff for the "open arms" they always extend to us.

Memorial Ride in Memory of Danbury Fire Fighter Doug Lyle in conjunction with the New Milford Connecticut September 11th Memorial Car & Motorcycle Show

Sadly, on his way home from bike week in Sturgis, one of our own from Woodbury and his girlfriend  were killed when the rear tire on his bike blew out. The Guardians MC, Connecticut Cruise News and the Firefighters from Danbury organized a ride that lead us from Danbury Harley Davidson to the New Milford CT Sept. 11th Memorial Car & Motorcycle Show. A $20.00 donation for this ride went to Doug's Son Scholarship Fund.  The Guardians also held a raffle that helped us to donate additional funds to Christopher, Doug's son as well as being able to donate another portion of our collection to the New Milford Youth Athletic Department.  Our continued efforts to help out our community is always the way of a Guardians member.  Check out the awesome pictures and smiles from that day!

CT United Ride

The group met up at Danbury Harley Davidson and was led by The Guardians Motorcycle Club and Jimmy Haywood and the 9/11 Memorial Bike.  The ride then joined up with the CT United Ride and combined efforts in memory of those lost on 9/11.  Over 2,800 bikes were there, breaking their record last year by hundreds!  All public safety groups were lined up to lead the ride through 11 towns, ending in Bridgeport, down on the shoreline at Seaside Park.  Food, entertainment and vendors were awaiting us after this almost 2 hour, fully police escorted ride.  At no point could you ever see the very front or end of this massive trail of motorcycles.  We all agreed that this by far was one of the most organized and smooth runs that we had ever been on and we are truly looking forward to being on it again next year.

A few of us after the ride continued the day at Harbor Yard for the 2nd Annual Fall Classic Ball Park Game of the Firemen vs. Trumbull PD.  This game was to benefit the Sara Taccone Foundation and was a great source of entertainment for a mere $5.00 a ticket. (FYI, the firemen won. Great job guys!)

1st Annual Peter Lavery Ride

This day started out at Maguire's Sports Bar on the Berlin Turnpike in Newington, CT.  The day was held in honor of a Police Officer who died in the line of duty this past year.  There was an overwhelming turn out of around 1,700 bikes that turned out for this ride.  Food, music and additional entertainment awaited us at end of this run. A great time was had by all.
